Software Development Engineer II, Audio, Twitch & Games (ATG) Security

Are you excited about building tools and services that help keep millions of customers safe while they enjoy their favorite music, audiobooks, and games? The ATG Security team is growing its software development function, and we're looking for a Software Development Engineer to help design and build the security tools, automations, and services that protect Amazon's media businesses. In this role, you'll work across the full software development lifecycle — from understanding the problem, through design and implementation, to testing, deployment, and operations. You'll tackle problems where the business need is clear but the right technical solution still needs to be shaped, and you'll have the opportunity to make a direct impact on how security scales across some of Amazon's most exciting entertainment products.

• Key job responsibilities
• - Design, build, and maintain security tools, automations, and services that support ATG's media businesses, delivering working software across the full development lifecycle including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• - Collaborate with security engineers and partner engineering teams across Music, Audible, and Games to understand requirements and deliver solutions that address real security challenges.
• - Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and processes, balancing short-term needs with long-term architectural goals while keeping solutions simple and maintainable.
• - Write clear documentation for the software you build — covering what it does, how it's constructed, and how it fits into the broader security landscape — and actively coach teammates through code reviews.
• - Evaluate and integrate generative AI capabilities where appropriate to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of security tooling.

• A day in the life
• You might start your morning reviewing a pull request from a teammate, then shift into a design session where you and the security engineers map out the architecture for a new automation that reduces manual effort across the team. After lunch, you could spend focused time writing code for a service that integrates with partner systems in Music or Games. You'll regularly connect with stakeholders to understand their pain points and make sure what you're building solves the right problems. Expect a mix of heads-down coding, collaborative problem-solving, and operational support.

• About the team
• The ATG Security team is responsible for security across Amazon's media organizations, supporting businesses that include Music, Audible, and Games. Within this team, a small but growing development group builds the tools, automations, and security services that help these businesses operate safely at scale. This is a chance to join early and help shape the technical direction of that function.

Basic qualifications

• - Experience in professional, non-internship software development
• - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
• - Experience leading the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Preferred qualifications

• - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• - Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
