As we continue to scale our global platform, the Software Development Engineer III will play a critical role in designing, building, and scaling full-stack AI-powered systems that drive critical business workflows.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Software Development Engineer III is a senior individual contributor responsible for owning end-to-end full-stack solutions — from cloud-native backend services and APIs to modern front-end interfaces — built for scale, reliability, and performance. This role requires deep technical expertise across the stack, hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, and the ability to evaluate and integrate emerging AI/ML technologies into production-grade engineering workflows. The Software Development Engineer III delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Partner cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.

Contribute to a strong engineering culture by proactively sharing knowledge, championing code quality and observability standards, and supporting a collaborative, high-performance team environment.

Build and maintain highly reliable, performant systems that directly power the digital experiences fans interact with across Fanatics Commerce's global platform.

Ensure solutions are designed with scalability and uptime in mind, minimizing disruption and delivering consistent, seamless fan-facing functionality.

Translate business and product requirements into technical designs that keep the fan experience at the center of every architectural decision.

Drive improvements to system observability and monitoring so that issues impacting fans are identified and resolved rapidly.

Evaluate and integrate the latest AI/ML tools and frameworks — including LLM-based agents, RAG pipelines, vector databases, prompt engineering, and AI copilots — into product and engineering workflows to drive automation and efficiency.

Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and company-wide AI initiatives, and proactively bring relevant innovations into the team's roadmap.

Architect and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS, leveraging services such as Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, and IAM to build secure, scalable infrastructure.

Identify and prototype new approaches to reduce technical debt, improve system performance, and unlock new capabilities for the business.

Own the full software development lifecycle — design, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and iteration — with an uncompromising focus on code quality, security, and reliability.

CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING

Required Qualifications:

4–5 years of professional software development experience with a strong track record of owning complex, full-stack systems end-to-end.

Strong proficiency in backend development using languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go, paired with hands-on experience in modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.

Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services spanning compute, storage, networking, serverless, and container orchestration (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM).

Practical experience working with or integrating AI/LLM technologies, including OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, LangChain, vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar), or building AI-powered features and agents in production environments.

Solid understanding of distributed systems, SQL and NoSQL databases, caching strategies, and API design patterns (REST/GraphQL).

Strong command of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and mentor other engineers in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

On-site: Your work location will be onsite in Hyderabad, Telangana.

Remote: As a fully remote role, the primary place of performance will be your residence or other approved remote location.

Hybrid: The primary place of performance of this role is the Company's office located in Hyderabad, Telangana , subject to the Company's current hybrid work policy. This role currently requires in-office presence 3 days per week .
