Role Overview :
As a software engineer at Maxima, you’ll work on building and improving core parts of our product, with a primary focus on either backend or frontend development.
Backend-focused engineers will work on systems that handle high-volume financial data, accounting workflows, and the infrastructure that powers our agentic AI platform. Frontend-focused engineers will build intuitive, reliable user experiences for complex enterprise workflows, working closely with product and design.
Regardless of focus, you’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and customers to ship high-quality features end to end. We value engineers who take ownership, care deeply about correctness and reliability, and enjoy working on challenging, real-world problems.
What We're Looking For:
2+ years building product at high-growth companies
Familiarity with web development, relational databases, and distributed systems
Experience with Typescript, React, Redux, or similar frameworks
Experience with data pipelines, mission-critical systems (e.g. fintech), or complex workflow engines is a plus
Loves in-person culture, we are 5 days a week in office in downtown San Mateo
