As we continue to scale our global platform, the Software Engineer III — Commerce Applications & Integrations will play a critical role in building and operating the applications that power our wholesale commerce experience end-to-end.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Software Engineer III to build, operate, and continuously improve the applications that power our wholesale commerce experience — including product and catalog workflows, cart and checkout, order processing, account management, and the internal tools our operations teams rely on every day. This is a full-stack role with real end-to-end ownership spanning application development, APIs and integrations, data processing, cloud infrastructure, production support, incident resolution, security remediation, and operational readiness. The Software Engineer III delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.
HOW WILL YOU DRIVE IMPACT
Success is measured by the ability to deliver results through BOLD capabilities and measurable outcomes.
Team & Leadership Impact (Build Championship Teams)
Partner closely with Product, Business Operations, Platform, Security, Data, and Support teams to align on technical decisions, communicate tradeoffs clearly, and ship reliable solutions collaboratively.
Contribute to architecture discussions, modernization initiatives, and technical discovery, bringing well-reasoned perspectives on schema design, system design, and next-generation commerce capabilities.
Participate in production support rotations and serve as a dependable technical resource for time-sensitive ordering escalations and cross-functional issue resolution.
Fan & Customer Impact (Obsessed with Fans)
Build and enhance wholesale commerce portal capabilities across catalog, cart, checkout, order confirmation, account, product, and user-experience workflows that customers and internal teams depend on daily.
Support order and fulfillment business rules — including inventory availability, account configuration, ship-window and cancellation dates, and downstream order interfaces — to ensure a seamless ordering experience.
Improve application reliability through monitoring, alerting, deployment health checks, and release validation so that customer-facing systems perform consistently and at scale.
Participate in resolving customer access issues and account setup problems, reducing friction in the wholesale commerce experience.
Innovation & Problem Solving (Limitless Entrepreneurial Spirit)
Design and develop scalable APIs, integrations, and supporting services using Go, Python, Node.js, and React/TypeScript that keep end-to-end business workflows reliable and extensible.
Develop scalable data-processing solutions for product, catalog, account, and order workloads, including batch and asynchronous processing pipelines built on AWS services such as SQS/SNS, EventBridge, and Lambda.
Contribute to application modernization efforts, including schema migration, platform refactoring, and the adoption of infrastructure-as-code practices via Terraform and GitHub Actions.
Explore and apply emerging tools, patterns, and AI-enabled capabilities to continuously improve the quality, efficiency, and scalability of commerce systems.
Ownership & Execution (Determined & Relentless Mindset)
Take end-to-end ownership of ambiguous problems through design, implementation, testing, release, and ongoing operational support across the full commerce application stack.
Troubleshoot production issues using structured logs, metrics, distributed traces, application behavior, and data analysis; drive root-cause analysis and implement durable fixes rather than patches.
Address application security and software supply-chain findings — including dependency vulnerabilities, authorization gaps, CI/CD hardening, and least-privilege access — with rigor and urgency.
Reduce recurring production issues over time by improving monitoring, operational documentation, and the underlying reliability of data and integration workflows.
AI & DIGITAL CAPABILITY
We are building a future-ready organization. This role is expected to:
Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes
Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance
Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working
Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
CAPABILITIES & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING
Required Qualifications:
3–6 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong track record delivering production software as an individual contributor, including full-stack ownership across frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, data, and operational concerns.
Proficiency with React and TypeScript for building customer-facing web applications, and proficiency in at least one backend language among Go, Python, or Node.js with willingness to work across the others.
Production experience on AWS, including compute (ECS/EKS, Lambda), storage (S3), managed databases (RDS), and messaging services (SQS/SNS, EventBridge).
Experience designing scalable APIs, data workflows, batch and asynchronous processing pipelines, and system integrations in a production environment.
Strong production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills using logs, metrics, traces, and data, with the ability to implement durable fixes rather than short-term patches.
Solid understanding of secure coding practices, dependency management, authorization models, secrets handling, and CI/CD security hardening.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to work effectively alongside product, business, platform, security, and support partners on ambiguous, end-to-end problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in wholesale commerce, order management, catalog, product, inventory, or fulfillment domains.
Exposure to Salesforce Lightning Web Components (LWC) or the broader Salesforce commerce ecosystem.
Experience with relational database design, query optimization, and schema migration at scale using PostgreSQL or MySQL.
Experience with messaging and event-driven integration patterns such as Pub/Sub, SQS/SNS, Kafka, or EventBridge.
Experience with infras
