Software Engineer (Java/C#)

Role and responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, you will develop software for complex machine and algorithm-based solutions. You will take end-to-end ownership of software development in Java and/or C# , directly contributing to the evolution of metrology solutions.

You will join a team that develops automated data-analysis workflows to improve the performance of advanced metrology systems. Your work will focus on implementing sophisticated machine and algorithm functionality.

You will work closely with software engineers and multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver high-quality, production-ready functionality. You will also collaborate with Customer Support and Manufacturing teams to ensure smooth integration and practical usability.

Your responsibilities will cover the full software development lifecycle, including:

• •Refining requirements and user stories
• •Designing software solutions and evaluating technical trade-offs
• •Planning and estimating development work
• •Defining and executing test strategies
• •Developing and maintaining software
• •Supporting CI/CD pipelines
• •Troubleshooting technical issues
• •Preparing software releases
• •Communicating progress and technical decisions

You will demonstrate strong Java and/or C# engineering practices and contribute to team discussions and design decisions.

Main responsibilities

• •Take end-to-end ownership of feature and story-based software development, from refinement through delivery.
• •Align specifications with relevant stakeholders to establish shared understanding and technical consistency.
• •Safeguard software and product quality through robust engineering practices and peer reviews.
• •Deliver high-quality software through disciplined design, thorough testing, and clear, maintainable documentation.
• •Share technical knowledge with colleagues and customer-facing teams to support successful integration and operation.

Education and experience

• •A master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, informatics, or a related technical field.
• •At least five years of professional experience developing technical, object-oriented software solutions using Java and/or C#.
• •Experience working in a high-tech, algorithm-driven, or complex systems environment is preferred.
• •Strong knowledge of software design patterns and the ability to create robust, scalable, and maintainable software.
• •Practical experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing.
• •Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to translate advanced algorithms into production-ready software.
• •Experience with image processing or numerical algorithms is preferred.
• •Experience with Python or React is an advantage.
• •Willingness to work with different technologies, including Java, C#, Python, and React, depending on project needs.
• •Experience with large-scale data processing, data-storage design, or query-performance optimization is an advantage.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced metrology solutions that help customers improve process control, accelerate production ramp-up, and optimize output.

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work.
