At Rivermont Schools, we provide specialized education for students ages 6–21 with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. Our Roanoke campus serves approximately 40 students across structured ABA-based classroom environments, supported by a dedicated clinical team.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field

Active VDOE license with endorsement in Special Education (Adapted Curriculum or General Curriculum) — or eligibility to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire

Minimum 1 year of classroom experience supporting students with autism, EBD, or related disabilities (student teaching counts)

Familiarity with IEP development, ABA principles, and positive behavior support strategies

Valid Virginia driver's license

What You'll Do

Deliver daily instruction across core academic subjects for a class of 4–8 students (ages 6–21) using individualized ABA-based lesson plans

Develop, review, and implement IEPs in compliance with IDEA; lead or co-lead IEP meetings with families and district representatives

Apply Positive Behavior Support (PBS) strategies; collect and analyze daily behavioral and academic data

Collaborate with BCBAs, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists embedded in the building

Maintain compliance documentation and communication logs in line with state and accreditation requirements
