Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join a community-based Adult Speech and Language Therapy team in Preston.

This role will involve providing specialist assessment and intervention for adults with communication and swallowing difficulties within a community setting. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to support individuals in achieving the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments for adults with communication and swallowing disorders.

Deliver evidence-based interventions for patients with a range of neurological and age-related conditions.

Undertake dysphagia assessments and management in line with professional guidelines.

Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to meet patient needs.

Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, carers, and other healthcare professionals.

Maintain accurate clinical records and reports in accordance with local and professional standards.

Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives where appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.

Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Dysphagia trained with proven experience managing adult swallowing disorders.

Experience working within adult community Speech and Language Therapy services.

Demonstrable experience assessing and treating communication difficulties.

Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
