The Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC) is the state’s perinatal quality improvement collaborative. Founded in 2008 through a grant from the Governor’s Office, TIPQC brings together hospitals, clinicians, payers, families, and community partners to promote meaningful change and improve the quality of care and outcomes through pregnancy, delivery, and beyond for all Tennessee families.
- What you’ll do
- In this pivotal role, you’ll develop and carry out an integrated communications plan that elevates TIPQC’s mission, increases engagement, and supports key deliverables—especially those connected to the Rural Health grant and TIPQC work plans.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders and partners across the state, including Tennessee’s 35 birth hospitals (including ongoing recruitment for TIPQC projects). You’ll also help strengthen awareness campaigns in partnership with communities focused on improving maternal and infant outcomes.
Your work will span multiple platforms and formats—website content, podcasts, social media, press releases, hospital recognition, and other outreach channels—to ensure TIPQC’s efforts are visible, clear, and compelling.
- Key Tasks:
- You’ll serve as a communications liaison, helping raise awareness of TIPQC initiatives with internal and external audiences.
- You’ll manage and refresh TIPQC communication assets, including the website (ongoing updates), social media, e-newsletter (ezine), app content, and other communication channels.
- You’ll develop and manage a marketing/communications strategy in partnership with TIPQC leadership.
- You’ll lead TIPQC podcast work—identifying and recruiting guests, coordinating scheduling, drafting content, and supporting recording/editing needs.
- You’ll coordinate print and digital content development, provide technical direction for marketing plans, and maintain consistent messaging across materials (monthly ezine, app updates, social content, and collateral).
- You’ll project-manage strategic communications campaigns and special initiatives.
- You’ll support key written deliverables, including components of TIPQC’s Annual Report.

- Required
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of relevant communications/marketing experience
- Preferred
- - Website update/maintenance skills
- - Podcast recording and editing experience (or strong interest and willingness to learn)
- - Social media content strategy and development
- - Familiarity with Canva and platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube
- Schedule and location
- Monday–Friday, traditional daytime business hours

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY :
The Mildred Stahlman Division of Neonatology at Monroe Carell is ranked one of the top programs in the nation for the care of critically ill newborns and premature babies. We admit more than 1,400 babies to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) each year. But our support extends beyond your baby to your family. We encourage you to ask questions and take an active part in caring for your baby in our NICU. Our neonatologists provide services at Monroe Carell, Maury Regional Medical Center, Vanderbilt Clarksville Hospital and Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as communications liaison and responsible for raising awareness of
programs and initiatives to internal and external audiences.
Develops and manages a marketing and/or communications strategy for departments and areas in conjunction with department leadership.
Coordinates the development, implementation and maintenance of print and online content and provides technical direction in carrying out marketing plans.
Serves as a project manager for strategic communication projects and campaigns.

professional organizations and forums. Contributes in the development of documentation best practices for the organization.
