The Enterprise SAP Technology & Operations Sr. Director is responsible for the strategy, stability, and security of Pfizer's global SAP platform, spanning basis operations, technical development, integration, support, security, data services, and automated testing. The ideal candidate has proven leadership managing platforms and global teams, brings a strong technical background, a deep understanding of emerging technologies including AI, with a track record of driving transformational change and delivering measurable ROI.

This role is part of the Pfizer Digital Enterprise SAP Solutions organization and leads a global team of managers, each accountable for a distinct pillar of the SAP technology and operations services. This role plays a critical role in keeping Pfizer's SAP platform stable and secure while positioning the platform to scale AI and innovation going forward.

What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

• •Lead the technical strategy and management of Pfizer's SAP platform, including Basis operations, to ensure it is stable, secure, resilient, and audit-ready.
• •Provide leadership for the technical development and integration services that power Pfizer's global SAP ecosystem of 600+ connected enterprise systems, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions.
• •Oversee Pfizer's SAP support organization, providing strategic direction and governance to ensure service performance, issue resolution, and continuous improvement across ~12K monthly support tickets.
• •Oversee SAP security and data services, ensuring access controls, data privacy, and compliance with GXP, SOX, and enterprise security requirements.
• •Manage a global team of managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• •Lead financial planning and investment prioritization for the SAP technology portfolio, ensuring optimal use of resources and achievement of ROI targets.
• •Oversee SAP automated testing for risk-based regression testing, automation frameworks, and AI-enabled testing across the SAP landscape.
• •Anticipate transformational change, drive AI innovation, prepare the organization for evolving technology, process, and operating models, and drive adoption.
• •Manage software vendors and service partners, ensuring delivery quality, contract performance, and value realization.

Basic Qualifications

• •BA/BS with 12+ years of experience or MBA/MS with 10+ years of experience or PhD/JD with 7+ years of experience or MD/DVM with 5+ years of relevant experience
• •Proven ability to manage financial goals
• •Ability to lead in a complex, matrix environment with resources geographically distributed
• •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences
• •Strong people management experience
• •Experience managing SAP and other enterprise platforms
• •Strong technical and integration knowledge
• •Experience ensuring compliance with GXP, SOX, and enterprise regulatory/audit requirements
• •Vendor and contract negotiation experience
• •Experience in managing support services including application support, maintenance, change management, configuration, problem, incident and lifecycle management
• •Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

Preferred Qualifications

• •A Master's degree
• •Experience in leading and developing senior-level resources to deliver on business priorities
• •Ability to act as a strategic advisor on key Enterprise initiatives and influence senior leadership
• •Experience in fostering a culture of inclusion and knowledge sharing, supporting colleague development, and leveraging organizational capabilities
• •Ability to create an environment promoting continuous improvement and innovation, and determine acceptable risk levels
• •Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
• •Experience with SAP Basis administration and platform operations (e.g., S/4HANA, HANA, SAP RISE)

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

• •Possible night and weekend work during project/program deployments.
• •Ability to travel up to 20% of time as required

Work Location Assignment: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $230,900.00 to $384,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
