Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer (PySpark & Azure) to join the Geneva Portfolio engineering team. This role is focused on building and maintaining common platform capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple product teams.

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable Python libraries and frameworks.
• Build scalable and maintainable applications using Python and PySpark.
• Create shared components that can be leveraged across multiple engineering teams.
• Apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and design patterns.
• Data Engineering
• Develop and optimize PySpark-based data processing solutions.
• Build efficient DataFrame transformations for large-scale data processing.
• Design reusable data processing frameworks and utilities.
• Optimize Spark jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Azure Development
• Develop and maintain Azure Function-based microservices.
• Build cloud-native applications leveraging Azure infrastructure services.
• Integrate applications with Azure storage, networking, and security services.
• Support deployment and monitoring of applications in Azure environments.
• Solution Design & Architecture
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and design decisions.
• Implement functional programming concepts and software design patterns.
• Create technical design documentation and implementation plans.
• Quality Engineering
• Write comprehensive unit tests and integration tests.
• Develop automated testing frameworks using PyTest.
• Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance activities.
• Ensure high standards of code maintainability and reliability.
• Collaboration & Agile Delivery
• Work closely with distributed engineering teams across multiple time zones.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement.
