What is Leapsome?

Leapsome is the AI-powered people platform revolutionizing HR for modern teams . Leapsome drives HR excellence and empowers high-performing teams by automating, connecting, and simplifying every HR process across the employee lifecycle — from onboarding and performance management to engagement and development. Built with ease of use in mind, our platform ensures high adoption by employees, managers, and People teams alike.

Our purpose is to make work fulfilling for everyone , and our vision is to reshape the future of work by being the leading People platform for HR excellence and high-performing teams. We enable companies to create environments where people can achieve their goals, learn and grow together, and build genuine motivation & engagement.

Trusted by thousands of organizations globally, Leapsome secured $60 million in Series A funding led by Insight Partners in March 2022. This funding allowed us to further develop our intelligent platform, create exceptional employee experiences, and expand into the US market.

It’s an incredibly exciting time to join Leapsome and be part of reshaping the future of work!

Your Opportunity:

Join a small and impactful engineering team that’s reshaping the future of work by building one people platform for high-performing companies. At Leapsome, our purpose is to make work fulfilling for everyone, helping companies create environments where people can achieve shared goals, build authentic relationships, learn, and grow together. We align product, engineering, and people in a single AI-powered HR platform, built to support fast-growing teams from startup to scale. We empower product engineers to take ownership of their work, contributing to the full lifecycle of our features, from ideation and discovery to development and iteration .

As a Staff Product Engineer, you will be a technical anchor for the team. You will help transition our platform from reactive tools to proactive workflows across the entire employee lifecycle . Guided by our vision, you will design intelligent systems that tap into user context across an interconnected tool stack to deliver a variety of features, AI and non-AI supported. You will build foundational context layers, robust security architecture, and autonomous agents that orchestrate complex processes , setting the standard for how humans and AI collaborate within our unified platform.

What you will do:

Strategic Technical Partnership: Partner with product and design as a technical peer - shaping scope, challenging assumptions, and influencing the roadmap to ensure our strategy solves real user problems.

AI & Agentic Architecture: Design and build robust, scalable applications, integrating LLM-driven agents and RAG pipelines capable of carrying out complex workflows autonomously across our entire platform ecosystem.

End-to-End Ownership: Own the end-to-end delivery of complex traditional full-stack features and multi-agent AI workflows. Make high-level architectural decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability, building reusable, user-friendly full-stack components (including conversational and chat-based UI/UX) using Vue.js, Node.js, and MongoDB.

Security & Data Integrity: Architect secure data pipelines and robust access management systems to safely handle sensitive employee and company data across our interconnected toolstack.

Data-Driven Iteration: Analyze agent performance analytics, workforce insights, and process outcomes to refine features iteratively, ensuring our proactive triggers and nudges provide genuine business ROI.

Engineering Excellence & Mentorship: Ensure high-quality, reliable releases by contributing to robust testing, monitoring, and code review processes, while pioneering dedicated AI evaluation suites (evals), strict schemas for tool calling, and "human-in-the-loop" safety fallbacks. Drive organizational learning by providing mentorship and codifying standard engineering and AI patterns into the codebase.

What is the technology stack?

Frontend: Vue.js, TailwindCSS, and a modern design system for a consistent, intuitive user experience

Backend: Node.js (TypeScript) with Express, MongoDB, and NATS, built for scalability and modularity

AI/LLMs: State-of-the-art models (e.g., from OpenAI, Anthropic) and frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph for stateful agent orchestration; implementation of advanced RAG architectures, vector databases, and observability tools (e.g., LangSmith)

AI Developer Tooling: Extensive use of AI tools such as Cursor, CodeRabbit, and Deep Research to accelerate learning, automate repetitive tasks, and rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions

Infrastructure & Testing: Docker and AWS; automated testing using Playwright, Vitest, Mocha/Chai, alongside dedicated AI evaluation frameworks (LLM-as-a-judge)

Analytics & Collaboration: Mixpanel, Sentry, Datadog, GitHub, Notion, and async communication tools for transparent teamwork

You’ll be a good fit if you:

Core Engineering & Product Leadership

Product Mindset: You share our belief that engineering is a product-focused discipline, and you're passionate about solving user problems with impactful, scalable solutions.

Proven Leadership: You have significant experience leading end-to-end product development, previously operating as a tech lead, founding engineer, or senior IC at a high-growth company.

Technical Anchor: You have a track record of making architectural decisions that shape product outcomes and establish engineering systems where your contributions make future work easier for the whole team.

Strategic Peer: You are comfortable pushing back on product specs when technical constraints or user experience concerns warrant it.

Full-Stack & Systems Expertise

Modern Stack Mastery: You operate confidently as a full-stack engineer with deep expertise in modern web frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React) and backend technologies (Node.js, MongoDB).

Secure Architecture: You understand how to build secure access management for enterprise data.

Modular Design: You have experience with design systems and building user-friendly, modular components.

AI-Native Development

Production AI Experience: You have proven, hands-on experience building and shipping both standard web applications and LLM-powered applications (multi-agent orchestration, RAG pipelines) to production .

AI Productivity: You have established experience utilizing modern AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) and AI-driven code review tools (e.g., CodeRabbit) as a core force multiplier in your daily software development lifecycle.

Total Ownership: You own every line that ships. AI is a collaborator, but you are the accountable engineer - you critically review, debug, and defend decisions from first principles, whether the code was written by you or generated by AI.

Culture & Execution

Pragmatic Excellence: You value high-impact work over high-volume work - balancing high standards with efficient, intentional delivery.

Empowered Autonomy: You thrive when trusted to make decisions close to the work, and you extend that same trust to those around you.

Mentorship: You enjoy mentoring teammates and fostering a collaborative engineering culture where knowledge compounds across the team, not just in individual heads.

Benefits

Learning and development: Grow your skills with a €2,000 yearly development budget and full access to the Good Habitz platform.

Work-from-home stipend: A one-time €1,000 stipend to set up your home workspace.

Competitive pay and equity: Competitive salary plus a pre-IPO equity package, so you share in the company's growth.

Corporate benefits: Exclusive discounts and deals from our partner network.

Vacation: 30 vacation days a year plus public holidays, with the option to upgrade to 40 days at adjusted pay. After 5 years at Leapsome, take a month-long paid sabbatical.
