Job Description:

A store manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a retail store. They ensure the store runs smoothly and profitably, and that customers have a positive experience.

Responsibilities

Customer service : Ensure customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient

Sales and marketing : Promote the store and its products, and implement marketing campaigns

Staff management : Recruit, train, supervise, and appraise staff

Inventory management : Ensure the store has the right products at the right time

Financial management : Monitor the store's financial performance, create budgets, and ensure the store meets its financial goals

Compliance : Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation

Store policies : Create store policies and marketing programs

Reporting : Compile data about sales and promotions, and produce reports for senior management

Skills and qualifications

Strong leadership and management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Knowledge of retail operations, including sales, marketing, and customer service

Ability to analyze financial reports and make data-driven decisions

Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods
