Position description:

We are looking for an experienced Aviation Subject Matter Expert (SME) with 12+ years of experience across airlines, airports, aviation service providers, or aviation technology organizations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of airline and airport operations, aviation technology, passenger and baggage management, and aviation regulations, along with proven experience in stakeholder management, transformation consulting, and digital transformation initiatives.

The candidate should be capable of bridging aviation business requirements and technology solutions, supporting transformation programs, identifying opportunities for process optimization, and working with business and technology stakeholders to deliver measurable outcomes.

Your future duties and responsibilities

Act as an Aviation Subject Matter Expert for airline, airport, and aviation technology transformation initiatives.

Provide domain expertise across airline operations, airport operations, passenger services, baggage, ground handling, crew and flight operations.

Understand and interpret relevant IATA standards, ICAO regulations, aviation safety and compliance requirements.

Engage with business and technology stakeholders to understand business challenges, operational processes, and transformation objectives.

Lead requirement gathering, business analysis, process mapping, gap analysis, and functional solution definition.

Translate aviation business requirements into clear functional and technology requirements.

Support aviation digital transformation and airport modernization programs.

Identify and evaluate opportunities for AI/GenAI applications within aviation operations and customer journeys.

Support cloud migration and technology modernization initiatives within aviation environments.

Analyze operational data and develop meaningful analytics, dashboards, KPIs, and management reports.

Work closely with product, technology, architecture, operations, and business teams to ensure successful solution delivery.

Manage stakeholders across airlines, airports, technology teams, vendors, and senior leadership.

Support change management and adoption activities associated with transformation programs.

Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to iterative delivery.

Identify operational risks, dependencies, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.

Support solution evaluation and provide aviation-domain inputs during technology/product selection.

Drive continuous improvement and process optimization across aviation business functions.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

10+ years of aviation industry experience with airlines, airports, aviation service providers, or aviation technology organizations.

Strong understanding of airline and airport operations.

Strong knowledge of:

IATA Standards

ICAO Regulations

Ground Handling Processes

Passenger Journey Management

Baggage Management Systems

Crew & Flight Operations

Aviation Safety & Compliance

Transformation & Consulting

Proven experience in aviation digital transformation programs.

Experience in airport modernization projects.

Hands-on exposure to AI/GenAI use cases in aviation.

Experience with cloud migration / technology modernization programs.

Experience with data analytics, reporting, dashboards, and KPI initiatives.

Strong stakeholder management and transformation consulting experience.

Strong business analysis and requirement-gathering capabilities.

Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Technology

Experience with one or more of the following:

Airport Operational Database (AODB)

Departure Control Systems (DCS)

Passenger Service Systems (PSS)

Airport Management Systems (AMS)

Good to Have

Experience across both airline and airport ecosystems.

Exposure to aviation SaaS/platform modernization.

Experience with airline/airport system integration and API-based architectures.

Knowledge of passenger experience and digital customer journey transformation.

Experience with cloud platforms and modern data platforms.

Exposure to AI/ML, GenAI, automation, or intelligent operations in aviation.

Experience working with global aviation clients and geographically distributed stakeholders.

Experience in vendor management and technology partner coordination.

Experience preparing business cases, transformation roadmaps, RFP/RFI responses, and solution proposals.

SAFe Or Other Scaled Agile Experience.
