As part of an ongoing transformation, Polène is looking for a Subsidiary Accountant to ensure the reliability and quality of the accounting records of our UK and US entities, while supporting the Maison’s development across its international markets.

Within the Finance Team and reporting to our Subsidiary Accounting Lead, you will play a key role in the day-to-day accounting and financial management of our international subsidiaries. As a key point of contact for local accounting firms and operational teams, you will contribute to the smooth running of accounting operations, month-end closings, reporting, reconciliations, and cash management.

You will thrive in this role if you want to:

Ensure the accuracy of our accounting records

Prepare monthly General Ledger extracts and review accounting entries to ensure the reliability and quality of financial records.

Perform regular account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts and payment methods.

Prepare accounting accruals as part of the month-end closing process.

Manage reporting and external accounting relationships

Prepare monthly reporting extracts and provide the necessary supporting documentation to our external accounting firms in the UK and US.

Act as the main point of contact for local accounting firms, coordinating requests and ensuring timely and accurate communication.

Respond to accounting queries and provide the information required to support local accounting and reporting processes.

Support treasury, cash management and retail operations

Execute transfers to the parent company in line with the Group’s cash management plan.

Monitor incoming and outgoing cash flows and ensure the proper follow-up of cash movements across the subsidiaries.

Maintain regular communication with Store Managers to ensure the proper reconciliation of cash and card transactions.

Reconcile store sales collections recorded through POS systems with corresponding bank statements.

Support operational teams from an accounting perspective during new store openings, helping ensure that financial and administrative processes are properly implemented.

Strengthen cross-functional collaboration

Work closely with Financial Analysts on accounting and financial queries, as well as modification requests.

Act as a key point of contact for operational teams across Europe on accounting, tax, and administrative matters.

Build strong relationships with Finance and operational stakeholders to facilitate the smooth flow of information and support the Maison’s international development.

You will excel in this role if:

You hold a higher education degree with a specialization in Accounting or Finance and have at least 3 years of professional experience in general accounting.

You have a strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, General Ledger processes, account reconciliations, and cash management.

You are proficient in Excel and comfortable working with digital tools. Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

You are rigorous, autonomous, and highly organized, with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.

You have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, both within Finance and across operational teams.

You are fluent in English and enjoy working in an international and multicultural environment.
