What if your next Superintendent Pharmacist role gave you the opportunity to help build the pharmacy of the future?
Montu operates one of the UK's largest medical cannabis services. Our digital pharmacy processes approximately 50,000 prescriptions every month, is growing at around 10% month-on-month, and supports patients across the UK who have often exhausted conventional treatment options.
We're now looking for an exceptional Superintendent Pharmacist to provide professional and regulatory leadership as we enter our next stage of growth.
This isn't simply about maintaining an existing pharmacy operation.
You'll have the opportunity to shape how a rapidly scaling digital pharmacy operates — from clinical governance and regulatory strategy to technology, automation and the development of new services.
The opportunity
Working alongside our Medical Director, Pharmacy General Manager and senior leadership team, you'll have professional oversight of a pharmacy operation encompassing:
50,000+ prescriptions per month
A 100+ person multidisciplinary pharmacy team
Controlled Drugs governance
GPhC and MHRA compliance
Regulatory inspections and audits
Pharmacy systems, SOPs and clinical governance
Millions of pounds of medicines annually
Technology and automation initiatives designed to transform dispensing at scale
You'll have genuine influence over how the operation develops.
What you'll own
You'll provide patient-centred professional and clinical leadership across Montu Pharmacy, including:
Acting as the senior professional authority for pharmacy practice
Maintaining robust GPhC, MHRA and Controlled Drugs governance
Leading regulatory inspection and audit readiness
Ensuring SOPs and governance frameworks remain safe, scalable and fit for purpose
Overseeing professional standards, training and competency across the pharmacy team
Partnering with Operations and Technology to improve dispensing systems and automation
Supporting safe medicines management across a rapidly growing operation
Evaluating new services and opportunities from a clinical and regulatory perspective
Supporting future expansion through scalable governance
Representing Montu with regulators and relevant industry bodies
Who we're looking for:
We're interested in pharmacists who combine strong professional judgement with an appetite for innovation. You might already be a Superintendent Pharmacist, or you may be a senior pharmacy leader ready for significantly broader ownership.
You'll need:
Current GPhC registration
Senior pharmacy leadership experience
Strong knowledge of GPhC and relevant MHRA requirements
Controlled Drugs governance experience
Experience leading within a high-volume pharmacy environment
Experience preparing for or managing regulatory inspections
Experience within online pharmacy, healthtech, private healthcare, medical cannabis, multi-site operations or pharmacy automation would be particularly valuable, but we're equally interested in exceptional pharmacy leaders from other environments who can demonstrate that they have successfully led through growth and change.
The Environment
Montu is growing quickly, and this role will suit someone who enjoys building rather than simply maintaining. You'll be joining an organisation where you'll encounter complexity, make meaningful decisions and have the opportunity to improve how things are done.
We don't expect you to have every answer on day one. We do expect you to be comfortable applying strong professional judgement, challenging constructively and helping us build the systems and governance required for the next stage of growth.
What we offer:
The salary range is £100,000 to £110,000 depending on experience, with a 25% performance-related bonus. Alongside that:
Benefits include:
25 days holiday, rising to 27 after year one and 30 after year three, plus 8 bank holidays
Pension matching up to 5% employer contributions
Private healthcare scheme
Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
Cycle-to-work and EV scheme
Genuine growth: collaboration across teams, representation at industry events, and direct involvement in shaping a scaling business
