Job Description

ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV), the design and construct (D&C) consortium, will design and build the Central-West Orana REZ transmission project.

The Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) Transmission Project will build new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity.

The Central-West Orana project is currently seeking dedicated Supervisor – Commissioning to share their expertise within our growing Energy Hubs and Substations team.

The Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for leading and supervising all site commissioning activities associated with Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations. The role ensures that primary plant, protection systems, control systems, SAS, telecommunications, and SCADA interfaces are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, utility requirements, and applicable standards prior to energisation and handover. The Commissioning Supervisor coordinates multidisciplinary commissioning teams, contractors, vendors, and utility representatives whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• •Lead daily commissioning activities for 500 kV substations equipment
• •Supervise commissioning engineers, technicians, OEMs and subcontractors.
• •Coordinate commissioning activities with construction, sub-contractors, engineering and client teams.
• •Ensure work is executed in accordance with approved commissioning procedures, ITPs, ITRs and project schedules.
• •Conduct daily toolbox talks, planning meetings, and progress reviews.
• •Manage commissioning resources and site priorities.
• •Verify mechanical completion of systems and equipment.
• •Review construction completion records and punch lists.
• •Ensure all inspection and test records are completed and approved.
• •Conduct walkdown with construction teams before handover
• •Verify readiness of: Switchyards, Power transformers, Primary equipment, Auxiliary systems, Protection systems, SAS and SCADA systems
• •Support development and review of commissioning procedures and method statements.
• •Lead Ready-to-Energise inspections.
• •Verify all commissioning activities are completed and documented.
• •Confirm closure of critical punch list items.
• •Conduct Commissioning Readiness Reviews (CRR).
• •Coordinate energisation activities with utility operations and project management teams.
• •Supervise first energisation and system monitoring activities.
• •Support performance and reliability testing following energisation.

Required Skills and Competencies

• •Minimum 10 years of power system commissioning experience.
• •Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or lead commissioning role.
• •Proven experience commissioning EHV substations of 220 kV, 330 kV, 400 kV, 500 kV or above.
• •Experience with greenfield transmission network projects.
• •Experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
• •Strong leadership and team management.
• •Excellent planning and coordination skills.
• •Advanced troubleshooting capability.
• •Strong understanding of transmission network operations.
• •Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• •High focus on safety, quality, and operational readiness.
• •Ability to work effectively under commissioning and energisation schedules.

Supervisor positions are onsite in camp style accommodation and 14/7 days roster-based arrangement out at The Central West Orana Transmission Line Project, Merotherie
