Supervisory Financial Analyst

Summary

The selectee of this position serves as a Supervisory Financial Analyst in the Travel and Relocation Team, Office of Finance, Financial Services Division (FSD), United States Marshals Service (USMS). The incumbent serves as the Travel and Relocation Assistant Chief responsible for developing and implementing travel and relocation policies for the USMS and for conducting the respective trainings. This position is located in the Financial Services Division, Arlington, VA.

Duties

As a Supervisory Financial Analyst at the GS-0501-14 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversee the preparation of accruals and disbursement of funds for travel and relocation vouchers. Review and interpret changes in law, financial policies, and requirements to determine impact on financial programs and funding activities of the USMS. Establish financial management internal controls and ensure compliance with applicable statutes or regulations. Exercise full supervisory authority over subordinate positions performing travel or relocation financial operations. Provide professional advice and technical guidance on travel and relocation financial policies, procedures, and systems.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Administering travel or relocation voucher processing to ensure disbursements are made in accordance with applicable policies and regulations. Interpreting laws, regulations, guidelines, or policies governing a travel or relocation program to determine their impact on financial operations. Establishing or maintaining financial management internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable statutes or regulations. Planning or assigning work to subordinates performing financial operations. Presenting technical information to internal or external stakeholders. When citing your experience, be clear and specific.
