Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist

Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (CMMI), Patient Care Models Group (PCMG), Division of Ambulatory Payment Models (DAPM). As a Supervisory Health Insurance Specialist, GS-0107-15, you will direct a staff of Health Insurance Specialists and Analysts in the successful implementation and operation of alternative payment models, which are of national significance.

Duties

• •Direct the development and implementation of models that support the examination of innovative payment models that incentivize care redesign across various ambulatory and acute care settings for a broad array of clinical conditions.
• •Develop collaborative partnerships with the Innovation Center and CMS staff, Department officials, senior representatives from stakeholder groups, State officials, senior personnel from other government agencies, and Congressional staff.
• •Work with high-level industry executives, consultants, and government officials to develop and implement alternative payment and delivery systems.
• •Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

In order to qualify for the GS-15 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Analyzing policies to determine the impact on program operations; AND Collaborating with stakeholders on payment model development; AND Designing or implementing alternative payment models to improve healthcare outcomes or decrease costs for beneficiaries participating in a healthcare program. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
