The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to 805 CTS.

Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of 805 CTS, ensuring that the Systems Administration section complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents 805 CTS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Senior System Engineering and Administration. Security Architecture, Analysis, and Technical Governance.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series, GS-2210 (Alternate A). EXPERIENCE: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, Problem Solving AND have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level (GS-12) or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes: standardizing complex network and base-level systems configurations across traditional, cloud, containerized, and virtualized environments using hybrid infrastructure management, cybersecurity frameworks, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementations; troubleshooting complex network outages and optimizing traffic flow through latency reduction and automated script deployment to ensure resilient service integration and recovery; deploying and maintaining enterprise hardware and software installations including hybrid physical, cloud-based, containerized, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) setups base-wide; and directing the operational planning, functions, and staff of a small-to-medium-sized organization. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and practices for integrating traditional, cloud-based, containerized, and virtualized information system components sufficient to plan, coordinate, and administer computer systems, and optimize system performance across hybrid environments including on-premises cloud instances, Kubernetes orchestration, Docker containerization, Windows virtual machines, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and enterprise backup solutions. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Knowledge of complex configuration management techniques, and requirements appropriate to manage base level system and network systems including hybrid infrastructure management, cybersecurity frameworks, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) implementation across traditional, cloud, containerized, and virtualized environments including Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) implementations. Skill in gathering facts and uses effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of system and network problems; and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate traditional, cloud-based, containerized, and computer applications from an operational perspective to better predict how management can meet future requirements including emerging technology assessment and strategic technology adoption recommendations for ABMS Battlelab operations and multi-domain mission support. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
