About the Position: This position is located at National Capital Region, Army Health Clinic Myer, in Arlington, Virginia. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

• •Plan, organize, and direct the activities of clinical pharmacy/outpatient services, ensuring that assigned pharmacy operation complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
• •Identify need for changes in priorities and takes action to implement such changes.
• •Establish metrics and analysis systems to ensure actions are timely and reviewed at critical points.
• •Advise and provide counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
• •Promote an environment in which employees are empowered to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment.
• •Determine appropriate recommendations for unresolved or questionable problems and performs follow-up.
• •Develop, implement, coordinate, and participate in various outpatient pharmaceutical care clinics (e.g. Coumadin Clinic, Lipid Clinic, and Medication Compliance Clinic).
• •Consult with the medical staff on drug therapy related issues and the development and implementation of clinical pharmacy services in the outpatient setting.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors. Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing clinical pharmacy operations; supervising pharmacy personnel and activities; and delivering pharmaceutical care to patients. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
