Summary

This position is located at the Community Recreation Division, Outdoor Recreation, DFMWR, Camp Casey, Tongduchon, South Korea. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Army NAF pay setting rules apply to this vacancy announcement.

Duties

• •Develops, manages, maintains and administers the Outdoor Recreation Program and facilities to include but not limited to: Equipment Check-Out Center, a high adventure program, classroom facilities, Archery Range, paintball course, mountain hiking.
• •Plans, supervises and directs year-round or seasonal outdoor recreation activities and services. Integrates risk management and organization safety program requirements into daily operations and activities.
• •Devises, improvises, and adapts these various activities to fit the conditions of the natural environment, and to conform to limitations in funds, facilities, equipment, and staff support.
• •Responsible for inventories and property; determines equipment condition; initiates maintenance, repair or replacement as appropriate. Recommends purchase/construction of equipment and facilities.
• •Prepares appropriated and nonappropriated budgets and monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with regulations. Ensures proper procedures are used to ensure that no misappropriation of funds occurs and maintains effective internal controls.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Directly related work experience that included the goals, principles, method of techniques, of outdoor recreation and understanding the interests of individuals and groups. Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs. Work experience supervising support staff in outdoor recreation programs. Demonstrated work experience must be equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. Preferred are those applicants that possess a Certified Leisure Professional through National Recreation and Park Association and work experience as indicated above and a bachelor's degree in the recreation/outdoor program areas. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": More than 2 years of experience managing Family & MWR programs, including the Special Events. At least 1 year of experience overseeing or managing Warrior Adventure Quest (WAQ) training program for soldiers. Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager. Education

Preference will be given to applicants who possess a bachelor's degree in the recreation, outdoor recreation, or a related field.
