The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring supplier quality, compliance, and performance throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as the primary quality liaison between suppliers and manufacturing, driving supplier qualification, risk management, problem resolution, continuous improvement, and compliance with customer, regulatory, and business requirements to deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• •Champion and ensure safe working practices are embedded in all processes.
• •Serve as the Voice of Quality (VOQ) and primary Quality representative between supplier quality and the plant quality
• •Leads and assists and ensures successful qualification and supplier approval from design to manufacturing readiness and manages supplier audits
• •Conducts and manages supplier risks and communicates to all the relevant stakeholders in a timely manner
• •Owns and manages supplier APQP, PPAP/FAI and assists with changes to the DFMEA/PFMEA/Control Plan relationship as it pertains to Quality Engineering.
• •Lead investigations and resolve complex quality issues through cross-functional collaboration in a structured problems solving by initiating and tracking SCARS and supplier deviations
• •Monitor and analyze supplier performance metrics
• •Supports initial sourcing in tandem with purchasing team, quality evaluations and ensuring purchase order requirements are reviewed and mandated in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements such as UL, conflict minerals, product safety etc.
• •Conduct reviews of work results at key milestones and product launches.
• •Act as a recognized expert in specific commodities and/or processes.
• •Follow and promote established procedures and industry best practices.
• •Work with and support manufacturing quality by driving improvements with supplier quality
• •Drive a culture of continuous improvement and lead business process enhancements.
• •Support / implement assembly line improvements and Permanent Corrective Actions (PCA) and process controls aligned with safety and manufacturing standards.
• •Collaborate across all levels of the organization to deliver accountable results.
• •Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Education /Experience Qualifications:

5-10+ years’ experience in supplier quality

BS in supplier quality or related engineering field

Preferred certifications (CQE, Six Sigma Green Belt)

Knowledge:

Quality management system

ISO9001

Zero defects core tools (FMEA, MSA, Process Capability, SPC, Poka Yoke)

Problem solving tools (8D, Why-Why, Is-Is Not, Cause & Effect, PDCA)

Supplier lead or internal auditing

Inspection and metrology

Interpret technical drawings and GD&T requirements

Manufacturing operations, casting, molding, machining, assembly understanding

Supplier selection, approval, and qualification

Risk assessment and decision making

Quality metrics - COPQ, Scrap, Rework, FPY
