The Role:

The C-27J fleet is entering an important phase of its lifecycle, with long-term sustainment, repair priorities, obsolescence challenges and eventual fleet withdrawal all requiring careful planning and strong leadership. The supply chain function is already well regarded by both the customer and the program, and the focus now is on building on that reputation while helping navigate what comes next.

You'll lead teams across Springfield, Amberley and Richmond, sit on the Program Leadership Team, and play a key role in decisions that influence fleet availability, sustainment outcomes, future planning and help shape how the fleet is supported through its next chapter. There is a strong foundation already in place, experienced people around you, and genuine scope to influence strategy rather than simply manage day-to-day operations.

While experience supporting Defence or aviation programs would be valuable, we recognise many of the skills we're seeking are transferable. We welcome applications from supply chain and logistics leaders from industries such as aerospace, rail, mining, resources, heavy maintenance, transport and other complex operational environments.

Amberley, Springfield or Richmond (NSW) based. Hybrid working and a 9 day fortnight option available.

Australian Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 security clearance is mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

• •Lead the supply chain function through a critical phase of fleet sustainment, transition and withdrawal planning.
• •Balance customer priorities, operational requirements and supply chain risks to support aircraft availability.
• •Work closely with Engineering, Maintenance and Program leadership to solve material availability, repairable asset and obsolescence challenges.
• •Guide teams across Springfield, Amberley and Richmond, providing clear direction, accountability and support.
• •Use data, reporting and analysis to drive decision-making and improve supply chain performance.
• •Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and contribute as a member of the Program Leadership Team.

About You

You'll bring experience leading supply chain, logistics or sustainment functions in a complex operational environment.

You understand the challenges that come with long-term planning, material availability, supplier performance and supporting critical assets through change. You're comfortable working across multiple stakeholder groups, making informed decisions and keeping people aligned when priorities shift.

Experience in Defence or aviation would be highly regarded, but we're also interested in leaders from other highly regulated industries where asset availability, planning and sustainment matter.

Most importantly, you'll be an approachable leader who communicates openly, builds trust and can help guide a team through an important period of transition.
