Job Title: Supply Chain Data Specialist

Salary: £41,593 + dependent upon experience

Location: Peterborough, UK

About IPSD

Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. • Job Summary
• The Order to Delivery (OTD) Digital Solutions team is part of the Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) and supports the Medium Engines OTD organisation, which consists of; the Operations, Supply Chain (Engines and Perkins Aftermarket Parts) and Global Technical Services functions. We are seeking a Data Specialist to join the team to support the Digital, Data and Process Automation needs of the Perkins Aftermarket Parts Supply Chain function.

The purpose of the OTD Digital Solutions team is to drive the creation, use and adoption of Digital tools within the OTD function to help automate processes, create value for the customer, improve operational efficiency and achieve Profitable Growth

The OTD Digital Solutions team combines a unique blend of Data Analytics, Data Warehousing and Application development with functional skill and knowledge to deliver tailored Digital Solutions for our end users. The team also play an active role in shaping and supporting IPSD Medium’s Data Strategy and related projects.

What You Will Do

• •Design, develop and deploy frequently used dashboards and reports within the Aftermarket Parts team
• •Develop views of datasets within our Data Warehouse environment and help to lead changes to our data architecture to drive standardisation and process sustainability
• •Interact with system data (primarily SAP) and seek to work with the Aftermarket Parts team to understand this data and their Digital & Reporting requirements
• •Work with the Aftermarket Parts Supply Chain team within OTD to gather requirements for data & analytics support and help to translate these business needs to data and digital requirements
• •Pick up request tickets from OTD customers in relation to Bug fixes and new project ideas and action in a timely manner
• •Be apart of and contribute to business projects that require Digital Solutions team support
• •Contribute to the Digital Solutions team strategy and feed into IPSD Medium Data Strategy

What You Have

Data and Analytics Tools: Knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform and ability to leverage these tools in several business use cases

Level Working Knowledge:

• •Develops effective Microsoft Power BI and Tableau dashboards to display key business information that provides insights to the end user
• •Works to drive continuous improvement of data flows into user facing tools to ensure sustainable development of solutions for the end user
• •Ideally have working knowledge of SAP ERP system and be familiar with data mapping within SAP

• Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
