Job Description:

We are looking to hire a full-time Supply Chain Manager to oversee both Procurement and Warehouse/Logistics operations.

The position would be responsible for managing the procurement process, inventory, warehouse operations, and overall logistics to ensure efficient and cost-effective supply chain management.

Supply Chain Manager duties include:

Procurement & Purchasing

• •Oversee the Procurement Manager and procurement team
• •Establish purchasing policies and procedures
• •Monitor supplier performance
• •Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts
• •Develop and maintain key supplier relationships
• •Review purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
• •Ensure purchases comply with company policies and contract requirements
• •Monitor purchase orders and outstanding commitments
• •Establish appropriate purchasing controls and approval thresholds

Inventory Management

• •Establish inventory management policies and procedures
• •Monitor inventory levels and turnover
• •Identify excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory
• •Establish reorder points and stocking levels
• •Coordinate periodic and annual physical inventory counts
• •Investigate inventory discrepancies
• •Work with Accounting on inventory valuation and adjustments
• •Develop strategies to reduce excess inventory without creating shortages

Warehouse & Logistics

• •Oversee the Logistics/Warehouse Manager
• •Ensure efficient warehouse operations
• •Establish procedures for receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials
• •Ensure inventory is properly identified and located
• •Monitor warehouse space utilization
• •Oversee shipping and receiving processes
• •Establish warehouse safety and security procedures
• •Monitor logistics costs and carrier performance

Planning & Supply

• •Coordinate purchasing requirements with operational needs
• •Forecast material requirements
• •Identify potential supply shortages
• •Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers/materials
• •Coordinate procurement schedules with project/production schedules
• •Monitor lead times and supplier capacity

Financial & Cost Management

• •Manage supply-chain-related budgets
• •Monitor purchasing and logistics costs
• •Analyze material and freight costs
• •Identify opportunities for cost reductions
• •Work with Finance/Accounting on inventory and purchasing-related issues
• •Monitor inventory investment and working capital

• Performance & Reporting
• The Supply Chain Manager would typically establish KPIs such as:

• •Inventory turnover
• •Inventory accuracy
• •Excess/obsolete inventory
• •Purchase price variance
• •Supplier on-time delivery
• •Purchase order cycle time
• •Stockouts
• •Warehouse utilization
