Supply Technician

Summary

About the Position: Uses automatic data processing, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal knowledge and ability to manage assigned supply systems and to provide supply and logistical support.

Duties

• •Maintains operational support and responsibility for assigned supply system
• •Establishes and maintains contact with key item managers for supply sources.
• •Establishes and controls requisitioning objectives (RO's) and unique mission support levels.
• •Monitors multiple automated inventory management systems to ensure users receive appropriate equipment and supplies, reviews requisitions, determines potential alternatives, and determines appropriate actions to be taken.
• •Prepares financial reports to compare performance against programmed objectives.
• •Develops plans to meet objectives resulting from policy or program changes.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement GS-07: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
