About the Role

Equativ is looking for an SVP, National Sales to lead and grow our U.S. national sales an organization spanning New York, the Midwest, the West Coast, and Canada.

We're looking for a sales leader who knows the programmatic advertising space, has deep relationships across major holding companies and independent agencies, and has a track record of growing revenue and winning new business. Just as important: someone who knows how to lead people.

Externally , you're the face of Equativ's national sales effort, credible with senior agency and holding company decision-makers, comfortable in the room for the biggest pitches, and always looking for whitespace and new opportunity.

Internally , you're building and running the team and setting the bar, creating consistency across three regions, coaching leaders and reps, and making the organization sharper and more accountable than it was before you got there.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants to stay close to the market and close to the team, and who's ready to shape how national sales operates, competes, and wins.

What You'll Do

Lead the National Sales Organization

Lead the North American national sales team across New York, the Midwest, the West Coast, and Canada setting clear priorities and creating alignment on where and how we grow.

Build a strong, performance-driven culture with clear expectations, real support, and real accountability.

Coach and develop sales leaders and individual contributors across all regions helping people see clearly where they're winning and where they need to grow.

Build trust with the team while being willing to challenge people, ask hard questions, and have direct conversations when they're needed.

Create a consistent operating rhythm across pipeline reviews, forecasting, account planning, performance conversations, and business reviews.

Evaluate how the team operates today and identify opportunities to improve focus, execution, and performance.

Drive Growth & New Business

Own national sales performance and deliver against ambitious revenue and new-business goals across all regions.

Stay close to the market and get personally involved in opening doors, building relationships, and creating new opportunities.

Deepen Equativ's relationships across major holding companies, independent agencies, and brands bringing established relationships and the credibility to engage senior decision-makers directly.

Turn relationships into real commercial outcomes and long-term revenue, not just maintained connections.

Identify whitespace across accounts, agencies, and regions including where mid-market and West Coast opportunity is underdeveloped.

Keep net-new business and prospecting central to the org while continuing to grow existing accounts.

Bring Rigor to How We Sell

Build a clear operating rhythm around pipeline, forecasting, quotas, activity, and results maintaining consistent across regions, but responsive to how Canada, Midwest and West Coast dynamics differ from New York's.

Establish metrics that give the team and leadership a clear, honest view of performance.

Use data to see what's working, where deals are getting stuck, and where the team needs to adjust.

Bring accountability and discipline to the sales process without piling on unnecessary layers.

Partner with leadership on coverage, territories, goals, incentives, and where to put resources against the biggest opportunities both regionally and nationally.

Bring Fresh Thinking

Bring new ideas and be willing to question how things have traditionally been done.

Challenge the team to think differently about prospecting, client engagement, storytelling, and new business.

Stay close to shifts across programmatic, agencies, media buying, and the broader ad tech landscape.

Find practical ways AI can make the sales org smarter whether in prospecting, account intelligence, prep, and client engagement.

Help the team understand how AI and other technology shifts are changing how clients buy media.

Partner closely with Partnerships, Marketing, Product, and Client Services while keeping clear ownership of National Sales.

What We're Looking For

Significant sales and sales leadership experience in programmatic advertising, ad tech, digital media, or a closely related space.

A strong track record of revenue growth, new logo acquisition, and new business development.

Deep, established relationships across major holding companies and independent agencies, with credibility to engage senior decision-makers directly.

A history of turning relationships into new opportunities and not just maintaining an existing network.

Experience leading quota-carrying sales teams across multiple markets or regions, managing against ambitious targets.

Strong command of pipeline, forecasting, conversion, and productivity metrics.

A track record of improving how a sales team operates through coaching, process, accountability, or organizational change.

Strong people leadership and emotional intelligence. Someone who listens, builds trust, reads people well, and knows how to get the best out of a team.

A leadership style that's grounded and accessible, but direct and decisive when it counts.

The ability to challenge an experienced team while bringing people along with you.

Genuine curiosity about how technology, AI, and shifts in the advertising ecosystem are creating new opportunities.

Based in the New York City area, comfortable working hybrid, with regular travel to Chicago, West Coast, and Canada markets.
