Job Summary

• Normal career level cap position within the engineering hierarchy.
• General analysis and implementation of generation technologies for application to Vistra operations or commercial development.
• Manage programs and projects to enhance the commercial availability of new technologies and enhancement to existing technologies.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

• •Technical support for the development of commercial / environmental / reliability / sustainability interests in new technology applications.
• •Technical support to Operations in the application of technologies at operating plants or plants in development
• •Perform root cause analysis
• •Provide innovative solutions for difficult problems
• •Contributes to economic justification/analysis for projects
• •Participate in and lead special projects or teams

Education, Experience & Skill Requirements:

• •BS or greater in an Engineering discipline
• •Licensed Professional Engineer or meets additional years of experience requirements
• •Demonstrates and applies knowledge of current and pending regulatory, code and general industry issues to resolve Vistra’s interests.
• •Proficient with technical evaluation processes.
• •Proficient in fossil, solar, battery, or nuclear plant technologies
• •8 years experience preferred in power plant operations / engineering or comparable industries
• •Demonstrates application of fundamental scientific principles
• •Communication –Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra’s interests to outside agencies
• •Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.
• •Demonstrated high performer through consecutive evaluations or work history for external candidates.

Key Metrics:

• •Individual contributor in field of expertise.
• •Provides technical support on a fleetwide basis
• •Maintain effective working relationships. Be able to explain technical information to ensure work/repairs completed correctly.
