• Role Summary
• We are looking for a skilled Tableau Server Administrator responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Tableau Server environments. The role involves ensuring high availability, performance, security, governance, and smooth operation of Tableau Server for business users and development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• •Install, Configure, and Maintain Tableau Server
• Install and configure Tableau Server across development, test, and production environments. Manage server topology, licenses, site settings, services, upgrades, patches, and regular maintenance activities.
• •Performance Tuning
• Monitor server performance, optimize backgrounder processes, improve dashboard loading times, analyze server resource utilization, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
• •Backup and Disaster Recovery
• Perform regular Tableau Server backups, validate backup integrity, manage restore procedures, and support disaster recovery planning to ensure business continuity.
• •User Access Governance
• Manage users, groups, site roles, project permissions, workbook permissions, and data source access. Ensure access is aligned with governance policies and security standards.
• •Authentication Integration
• Configure and support authentication methods such as Active Directory, LDAP, SAML, Kerberos, OpenID Connect, or trusted authentication based on organizational requirements.
• •Network and Security Infrastructure
• Work with infrastructure and security teams to manage SSL certificates, firewall rules, reverse proxy configurations, ports, server connectivity, and secure communication between Tableau components.
• •Automation and Scripting
• Use automation tools and scripts such as TSM, Tabcmd, PowerShell, Python, or REST APIs to automate administrative tasks, user provisioning, monitoring, backups, and content management.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Tableau Server administration

Good understanding of Tableau Server architecture and services

Experience with performance monitoring and troubleshooting

Knowledge of backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes

Hands-on experience with user access, permissions, and governance

Familiarity with authentication and security integrations

Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Python, Tabcmd, TSM, or REST API

Understanding of networking, SSL, firewalls, and server infrastructure

Good to Have

Data Environment Concepts/ ETL.
