About the Opportunity

Masai School, in academic collaboration with a premier institute, is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant – Forward Deployed Engineer to support learners enrolled in an online software engineering program.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with learners to help them understand software engineering concepts, solve technical doubts, debug code, and apply their learning through practical, real-world projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Doubt Resolution

Conduct weekly doubt-solving and tutorial sessions .

Help learners understand software engineering concepts, assignments, and coding challenges.

Simplify complex technical concepts using practical examples.

Support learners with programming, debugging, and implementation challenges.

Technical & Academic Support

Assist learners with backend development, APIs, databases, system integration, and software engineering practices .

Help debug code and troubleshoot technical issues.

Guide learners in building and improving applications and technical solutions.

Answer technical questions through discussion forums, chats, and LMS platforms.

Project & Industry Support

Help learners apply software engineering concepts through practical, real-world projects .

Guide learners on APIs, third-party integrations, cloud platforms, deployment, and production workflows.

Share relevant industry use cases and engineering best practices.

Help learners understand system design, scalability, testing, and debugging practices.

Learner Engagement

Provide regular feedback and guidance to learners.

Encourage active participation in sessions and technical discussions.

Track learner progress and highlight challenges to the academic team.

Contribute feedback to improve the learning experience and course delivery.

• Candidate Requirements
• Must Have

2+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, full-stack development, solutions engineering, or a related technical role.

Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar languages .

Good understanding of:

APIs and backend development

Databases and SQL

Software engineering fundamentals

Debugging and troubleshooting

Hands-on experience with Git, REST APIs, and software development workflows .

Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, training, or academic support .

Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically.

Good to Have

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure .

Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and deployment workflows.

Understanding of system design and distributed systems.

Experience with AI/ML or Generative AI integrations .
