A Day in the Life

Start your career with Medtronic and gain hands-on experience supporting innovative healthcare technologies. As a Technical Consultant Intern, you will work alongside experienced colleagues to support healthcare professionals, develop your clinical and technical knowledge, and build a strong foundation for your future career in the medical technology industry. This internship offers practical exposure in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment where you can contribute to better patient outcomes while learning on the job.

• Internship Details:
• · Start date: November 2026
• · Duration: 12 months
• · Locations : Mthatha, East London (Eastern Cape), Durban (KwaZulu-Natal)
• · Working hours: Full-time
• · Work model: Field-based and office-based, with regular travel to customer facilities

• Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
• · Support commercial growth within assigned accounts and the broader territory
• · Provide clinical and technical support before, during and after procedures
• · Assist with case preparation, product demonstrations, installations and first-line product support, as appropriate to the role
• · Respond to technical and application-related queries from sales colleagues and external stakeholders
• · Help deliver on-site education, consultation and customer follow-up while following Medtronic policies and hospital protocols

• Required Knowledge and Skills:
• · Recently graduated with a degree in a medical or health-related field
• · Proficiency in English, with clear written and verbal communication skills
• · Able to travel to support customer needs
• · Must be currently unemployed
• · Must be a South African citizen
• · Must be under the age of 30
• · Must not have participated in a YES programme previously
• · Should not be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in postgraduate studies
• · Commits to complete 12-month internship

• Would be a Plus:
• · A valid driver’s licenc
• · Customer-focused communication, teamwork, adaptability and a strong willingness to learn on the job
