Summary

You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the G-6 of MARINE CORPS BASE.

Duties

  • You will maintain a variety of over 900 wireless devices including Samsung Android and Apple smartphones, Android Tablets, and wireless modems.
  • You will manage device lifecycle, including ordering upgrades, replacements, and decommissioning.
  • You will enforce device policies like password complexity, data encryption, and app restrictions.
  • You will provide technical support to users regarding mobile device usage and troubleshooting connectivity problems.
  • You will coordinate with the wireless carrier when necessary to resolve service-related issues and perform hardware maintenance on wireless assets.
  • You will perform desktop support to resolve common software application issues and instructs users on the submission of trouble tickets for the resolution of enterprise service-related issues.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: tracking and maintaining inventories of wireless devices and available spares; generating reports on device and network usage, device health, security compliance and software updates; managing user access and permissions on mobile devices. Education

Education Requirements Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study - electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. Other Education: Communications/electronics or automatic data processing training in technical institutes or business schools above the high school level or in Armed Forces schools that included advanced instruction in addition to basic courses, may be substituted for general experience on a month-for-month basis. In lieu of specialized experience listed in the Qualifications section, applicants may qualify based on education OR equivalent combination of experience and education as follows: GS-07: Successfully completed 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement in electrical or electronic engineering, mathematics, physics, public utilities, statistics, computer science, telecommunications management, information systems management, business administration, industrial management, or other fields related to the position to be filled. OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
