TEMP - Building Attendant

Summary

Responsible for performing semi-skilled manual labor work in keeping offices, buildings and surrounding grounds in a clean and orderly condition.

This is a temporary assignment expected to last through March 2027 .

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Pay Rate: $17.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned .

• •Maintain City facilities’ flooring by sweeping, mopping, shampooing and scrubbing.
• •Clean woodwork, furniture, desk, chairs, filing cabinets and telephones.
• •Complete detailed vacuuming of carpets and other applicable surfaces.
• •Maintain sanitary condition of facilities by cleaning sinks, mirrors, countertops, toilets and drinking fountains.
• •Complete special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• •High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
• •No experience required
• •Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

6 months to 1 year experience in maintenance, custodial services or similar experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• •General knowledge of maintenance upkeep
• •Skill in operating general cleaning maintenance equipment
• •Ability to work to make independent decisions
• •Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with City personnel

Licenses and Certifications

Valid Class C Texas Driver’s License

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The incumbent works in an outdoor and indoor environment; with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Requires ability to carry 20 to 30 pounds. Tasks require physical labor, exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
