Position Summary

An exciting opportunity for a Test Calibration Engineer to join the team in Indianapolis. As a Test Calibration Engineer for Rolls-Royce, you will be responsible for all aspects of test calibration, certification, and qualification for our engines and components for commercial and defense aerospace, marine, and energy applications. This is an exciting opportunity, as you’ll be fully accountable to ensure all calibration requirements for our test equipment are up to date and the requirements are met for the designated test stand.

What you will be doing

Calibration of measurement and test equipment used for development and product conformance testing of aircraft engines and subsystems.

Selection, maintenance and calibration of standards used for calibration activity which may include fabrication of tooling, harnesses or other work aids to assist with calibration of test equipment.

Coordinate external supplier and internal Rolls-Royce Metrology calibration activity

Maintain data integrity of multiple databases for control of calibration and test stand data acquisition, including inventory management of sensors to support testing.

Contribute to the organizational Improvement Journey to Process Excellence, including review of existing and development of new processes and support of internal and external Quality Audits

Responsible for knowledge of, awareness of, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

Basic Requirements:

• •Associate’s degree in an Engineering, Technical, or Aviation discipline and 2+ years’ experience; OR,
• •Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering, Technical, or Aviation discipline with 1+ years’ experience; OR,
• •Master’s degree in an Engineering, Technical, or Aviation discipline
• •In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US citizen

Preferred Requirements:

• •Experience with instrumentation, calibration and use of test equipment for fluid flow, pressure, temperature, force, electrical, vibration, etc.
• •Familiarity with data integrity and metrological traceability
• •Ability to utilize computers and common software packages and willingness to learn new software applications
• •Good communication skills, both written and verbal; good interpersonal skills; proven team leadership capability; and the ability to make sound business decisions
• •Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment as well as plan and finish assigned tasks on schedule
• •Understanding of basic mathematics, measurement systems and scales (temperature – degrees; pressure – psig, psia; rotational speed – rpm; vibration – ips rms; horsepower – shp; stress – strain gauges; air flow – lb/sec; fluid flow – lb/hr, gal/hr; etc.), mechanical systems, hydraulic systems, and low voltage electrical systems; ability to read and understand blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications

Pay Range

Pay ranges for remote employees are based on the state where the employee resides and may vary from the posted range.
