Program Overview:

Acenda’s Mental Health Urgent Care Walk-In Clinics provide immediate, same-day access to behavioral health support for individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health symptoms, or situational crises. Designed as an alternative to emergency room visits, our clinics offer a compassionate, safe, and stigma-free environment where individuals can receive short-term counseling, crisis intervention, psychiatric evaluation, and referral to ongoing care. We serve adults across Gloucester and Cape May County, helping to stabilize individuals and connect them to the appropriate level of support—when they need it most. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team is passionate about reducing barriers to mental health care and creating pathways to recovery and wellness in the communities we serve.

Position Summary :

The mental health clinician is part of this dynamic team providing assessment, treatment and wellness services to individuals who have mental health diagnosis. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, screen, counsel, and support individuals in crisis to receive rapid and supportive care while awaiting linkage to long term services. Utilize assessment and evidenced-based modalities to ensure the most successful outcome for the individual's needs. Ensure proper service linkage to appropriate level of care and flow upon exiting our 30-day Early Intervention Support Service. Contribute to supporting individuals maintain services within the community and decrease use of hospital emergency rooms.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• •Provides emotional support, appropriate intervention strategies and adjust services accordingly.
• •Collaborate with other EISS team members to complete intake assessment and maintain rapid access to services.
• •Maintain face to face performance benchmark on average of 28hrs per week.
• •Develop and implement treatment plans/programs and assist with crisis intervention.
• •Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
• •Provides culturally competent service delivery.
• •Upholds ethical standards in accordance with the Social Work Code of Ethics.
• •Educates self on issues impacting the program population.
• •Conducts self in a professional manner that positively reflects the agency culture.
• •Attentive and responsive to customer needs in a helpful, supportive and timely manner.
• •Attends agency and program meeting and training within established time frames.
• •Follows program policies and procedures and encourages the same in others.
• •Works collaboratively with coworkers and agency staff to effectively communicate and problem solve.
• •Submits documentation within program requirements.
• •Ensures quality and accuracy of written and verbal communications.
• •Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education, Work Experience and/or Skills Requirements:

• •Minimum requirement is a Master’s Degree and a NJ professional license (LCSW/LSWL/LPC/LAC/LMFT/LAMFT) in good standing.
• •Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• •Must be able to exercise independent thinking and good judgment under all circumstances.
• •Must be able to analyze work, set goals, develop plans and utilize time effectively and efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

• •While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
• •Repeated motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
• •The employee must occasionally move about to accomplish tasks, adjust or move objects up to 20 pounds.
• •Must be able to communicate with others to exchange information
• •Ability to drive a vehicle
