Transportation Team Lead – Transportation Directorate

POSITION OVERVIEW

Technical Assent is seeking a Transportation Team Lead to support our federal client and lead a team within the Transportation Directorate. This role provides senior-level leadership across transportation policy, programs, and operations, applying broad logistics expertise to analyze requirements, manage risk, develop practical solutions, and support effective end-to-end transportation capabilities.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership: Support a team of Transportation Analysts responsible for Transportation Directorate governance, programs, and daily assignments.

Delivery and Coordination: Mitigate risk, maintain quality standards, and collaborate with the client and project team.

Policy and Regulatory Support: Oversee and provide technical updates to transportation policies, directives, and regulations.

Policy Administration: Oversee policy exception requests, Defense Transportation Regulation (DTR) changes, and domicile-to-duty approvals.

Program and Working Group Support: Manage working groups and oversee Joint Transportation Management System (JTMS) initiatives.

Analysis and Reporting: Perform data analysis and reporting and apply category management practices to improve efficiency.

Continuous Improvement: Conduct research on industry best practices and provide recommendations to support efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Education Requirements:

TS/SCI Clearance Required

Bachelor's Degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience

DoD background and knowledge of OSW Staff operations

Position is on-site and located in Alexandria, VA

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Close vision is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated knowledge of DoD transportation policies with experience in airlift operations.

Experience with operations of the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD), Military Sealift Command (MSC), and Army Transportation Command .

Background with VISA, VTA, TSP, and MSP programs is a plus.

E xperience with chartered, commercial , and organic sealift requirements .

Working k nowledge of the Jones Act and cargo preference requirements

Salary: $95,000-$105,000 annually, commensurate with experience
