Department/Unit Overview:

• •16 bed unit
• •Norfolk General Hospital is the only Sentara Facility that performs Kidney/Pancreas Transplants and complex vascular surgeries.
• •Immediate surgical recovery of Kidney and Pancreas Transplant.
• •General Surgical Patients requiring ICU.Management of patients requiring mechanical ventilation.
• •Management of patients requiring CRRT and hemo-dialysis.Vascular: lower extremity revascularization, Abdominal Aortic Aneurism, Mesenteric Artery Repair, EVAR, TEVAR, Lower extremity bypass, revascularization, Carotid Endarectomy and Carotid Stent, EKOS- treatment for DVTs, Medical management of AAA’s and dissections.General
• •Patient Population Served: Adult medical and surgical patients requiring intensive nursing care.
• •Average length of stay 2-3 days, complex patients may be there >30days.

Education

Associates, Bachelors, Masters, or diploma in the Nursing Field required

Certification/Licensure

• •Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing
• •Basic Life Support (BLS)
• •ACLS
• •NIH Stroke Scale

Experience

Must have two or more years of current acute care hospital RN experience.
