Position Description:

The Athletic Coach provides high-quality instruction and leadership that develops basic athletic skills, fosters a love for physical activity, and models Christian character both on and off the field. Coaches will guide students in teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, and respect, reflecting the values of Christ in every interaction.

Qualifications:

• •Proficient in both technical and tactical skills related to specific sport
• •Certified in emergency care procedures (CPR, IMPACT, First Aid, and AED)

Responsibilities :

• •Uphold and enforce school and Board policies
• •Facilitate daily practices to train student athletes in both technical and tactical skills in order to improve both individual and team performance
• •Attend DCS coaches professional development workshops
• •Be available for professional development opportunities
• •Keep up to date on schedules by signing up for updates on Websites4sports for every sport, and by communicating with the Athletic Director
• •Maintain accurate box-score information in Royalssports.com

Physical Activities & Demands

• •Must be able to observe, instruct, and supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team activities, and travel.
• •Must be able to move about athletic facilities (e.g., gymnasium, weight room, locker rooms, and fields)
• •Must be able to communicate effectively to provide coaching instruction, safety direction, and feedback to children and adults.
• •Must be able to monitor student activity across various distances indoors and outdoors
• •Must be able to lift, carry, or move equipment between 20-50 pounds, depending on the sport-season needs.
• •Must be able to tolerate outdoor weather conditions during practices and competitions (e.g., heat, cold, rain)
• •Must be able to respond promptly to emergency situations to ensure student safety
