Job Description

• Visiting Assistant Professor/Instructor to teach undergraduate and graduate courses beginning Spring Semester 2027. Responsibilities include teaching courses in our Undergraduate Inclusive Education (IEP) and Graduate Special Education (GSEP) Programs. Our Inclusive Education Program meets the increasing demands in the field for educators prepared to teach all learners in both general education content and integrated methods, and special education student-centered supports and practices. The Inclusive Education Program leads to three licenses and an endorsement: PK-5 Primary Licensure (General Education), K-12
• Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist Licensure, and K-12 Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist Licensure, and the K-12 TESOL Endorsement (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). Our online Graduate Special Education Program results in a Master's degree in Special Education and/or K-12 Intervention Specialist teacher licensure.

This is an on-campus position and requires in-person presence on the Oxford campus. Appointment begins in January 2027.

• Minimum Qualifications :
• For appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor, earned doctoral degree by date of appointment in Special Education or closely related field. For appointment as Instructor, Master’s degree in Special Education or closely related field with a minimum of 5 years professional teaching experience in a PK-12 setting.

Consideration may be given to candidates who have any of the following:

• •Evidence of expertise in both general and special education
• •High-quality instruction and collaboration in higher education
• •Experience teaching online courses
• •Evidence of knowledge in Science of Reading and effective literacy instruction
• •Experience teaching in inclusive settings
• •Earned doctorate by time of appointment
• •Expertise and/or teaching experience related to one or more disciplines in the Department of Educational Psychology such as School Psychology
