Responsibilities for Yard Worker:

• •Organize and maintain yard materials, including concrete ties, equipment, and tools
• •Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks and other vehicles
• •Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials within the yard
• •Perform routine yard maintenance such as cleaning, stacking, and organizing items
• •Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages or issues to the supervisor
• •Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and protocols
• •Assist with other general labor tasks as needed
• •Can work varied shifts with changing seasons
• •Can work in a team in environment
• •Secure loads on top of railcars using load binders and chains

Qualifications:

• •High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
• •Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or manufacturing setting is preferred
• •Ability to operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred)
• •Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• •Basic understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing environment

Physical Requirements:

• •Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.) repeatedly
• •Stamina to stand, walk, and move throughout the yard for extended periods
• •Ability to bend, climb, stoop, squat, and reach overhead as needed
• •Capable of operating forklifts and other equipment, requiring good hand-eye coordination
• •Willingness to work in varied weather conditions
• •All employees are required to have steel toe boots and supplied PPE

Environmental Conditions:

Industrial/manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures

Must be able to work in hot temperatures in the summer and cold temperatures in the winter months.
