Advanced Security Specialist

The Advanced Security Specialist is responsible for moderately complex security activities and functions to ensure that Security has the necessary support in order to provide a high level of protection for Susquehanna SES. This position works with regular guidance in own area of knowledge, conferring with supervision or other subject matter experts on unusual

problems.

Primary Responsibilities

• •Responsible for the maintenance and enhancements of security systems and equipment.
• •Responsible for the implementation and control of the security lock and key program and act as the Safeguards Information (SGI) Custodian.
• •Maintain the site Physical Security Plans.
• •Serve as interface for Susquehanna Steam Electric Station (SSES) Work Management System.
• •Responsible to support implementation of the safety-security interface program. Assist in the development of work plans and supporting budgets to implement assigned programs.
• •Responsible to monitor any security related projects with the site. Review procedures, instructions and post orders for content or process enhancements.
• •Attend T-week, project meetings and daily station meetings.
• •Coordinate manpower with Security Shift Supervisors.
• •Review initiated Condition Reports for accuracy and completeness. Assess effectiveness of corrective or remedial actions as part of the Corrective Action Program (CAP).
• •Assist in the development of corrective actions to address identified areas for improvement.
• •Responsible for the tracking and monitoring of security incidents.
• •Serve as a member of the Cyber Security Assessment Team.
• •Assign on conduct investigations for human performance issues or other events.
• •Conduct industry benchmarking and self-assessments and participate in industry working groups.
• •Perform CAP Resolution Significance Level (RSL) 2 and above investigations and lead Human Performance SEPTAs.
• •Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications

• •Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field; or a minimum of five (5) years security experience, which can be substituted for educational background.
• •Three (3) years experience working in the designated security discipline at the Security Specialist level or higher.

Preferred Qualifications

• •Demonstrated knowledge of applicable codes and standards as related to the security requirements for a nuclear power plant.
• •Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• •Ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
