GSF Properties is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to join our team in Bakersfield, CA . If you enjoy helping people, staying organized, and being part of a successful apartment community, we'd love to hear from you!

In this role, you'll support the day-to-day operations of the community, assist with leasing, resident relations, rent collections, and administrative responsibilities while helping maintain high occupancy and resident satisfaction.

Compensation & Schedule:

  • Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour, DOE
  • Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (8:00 AM-5:00 PM) & Saturday (10:00 AM-2:00 PM)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Must have at least 1-2 years in a Leasing position in property management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily operations of the apartment community.
  • Support leasing activities, including tours, applications, move-ins, and resident retention efforts.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents.
  • Respond to resident inquiries and help resolve concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Assist with rent collections, notices, and resident account management.
  • Maintain resident files, reports, and property records accurately.
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and support office operations.
  • Partner with the Property Manager to achieve occupancy, leasing, and performance goals.
  • Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure service requests and resident needs are addressed.
  • Promote a positive living environment while upholding company policies and community standards.

Requirements

Job Requirements – Assistant Manager

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Leasing, property management, or affordable housing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications and the ability to learn new software systems.
  • Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar property management software preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling resident files and records.
  • Professional, positive, and resident-focused approach to customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to take initiative.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to work the scheduled hours, including Saturdays.
