Duties

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Minnesota is a mission-driven team of about 140 professionals, including more than 70 Assistant U.S. Attorneys. Based in the Minneapolis federal courthouse with a branch office in St. Paul, the Office is organized into four divisions, Criminal, Civil, Appellate, and Administrative. Positions with the District of Minnesota offers attorneys meaningful, high-impact work in a collaborative environment dedicated to public service. We are seeking highly qualified and motivated attorneys to join the Fraud and Public Corruption Section of our Criminal Division as Assistant U.S. Attorneys. These positions focus on the investigation and prosecution of complex white-collar cases, including health care fraud, fraud involving taxpayer-funded programs, mail, wire, and bank fraud, money laundering, public corruption, tax offenses, and other financial and civil-rights crimes. Selected candidates will work closely with experienced prosecutors, auditors, and investigative partners on matters that directly protect and strengthen our communities. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Qualifications

Required Qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. Degree and be an active member of the bar (any U.S. jurisdiction) United States citizenship is required. You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable. Must reside in the district to which appointed or within 25 miles thereof. See 28 U.S.C. 545 for district specific information. Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory preemployment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation. Preferred Qualifications: Hiring for AUSA positions within the District of Minnesota is highly competitive. Most attorneys hired have several years of experience, although highly qualified recent graduates with some experience in practice or as a judicial clerk are also considered.
