- Job Description:
- The Global Markets Technology (GMT) team provides regional and global technology solutions for our business partners including Global Markets Operations & Middle Office covering transaction processing, allocation & confirmations, clearing, settlements, asset servicing for equities and fixed income products. The candidate will develop robust and scalable technology solutions to business problems using modern software development best practices. Work with global teams to design and build new functionalities in relevant languages and/or other shared (and existing) platforms. Able to communicate technical details effectively across disciplines and teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver scalable, resilient technology solutions that meet business requirements and align with software engineering best practices.
- Drive platform modernization and efficiency through consolidation, standardization, and the adoption of shared foundational services and low-touch integrations.
- Develop and enhance reusable core services and platform capabilities that support multiple business domains.
- Partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver solutions that balance enterprise standards with business objectives.
- Ensure solution designs align with the Global Markets Technology strategy, architecture principles, and target-state roadmap.
- Collaborate with regional and global teams to implement new capabilities across shared platforms and technology stacks.
- Communicate technical concepts, architecture decisions, and delivery outcomes effectively to stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience in developing scalable solutions using Scala/Java, with deep knowledge of Object-Oriented and Functional Programming principles.
- Proven expertise in event-driven architectures, including Event Sourcing and CQRS patterns.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns, clean code practices, and software engineering best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to optimize algorithms and improve application performance.
- Experienced in Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD), Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD), and Specification by Example.
- Proficient in DevOps and SDLC automation tools, including Jenkins, Gradle, GitHub, Artifactory, and Ansible.
- Advocates Test-Driven Development (TDD), continuous integration, and automated testing to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Experienced in Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and collaborative cross-functional team environments.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts and solution designs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and adaptability skills, with a proven ability to perform under pressure.
Desired Skills:
- Experience with modern frontend technologies such as ReactJS, AngularJS, and Elasticsearch is advantageous.
- Knowledge of AMPS messaging infrastructure, SQL, and database technologies is a plus.
- Understanding of capital markets and post-trade processing, including securities trading, clearing, and settlement, is desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Awareness and practical experience with emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud Computing, Data Engineering, Data Modelling, Observability, and Resilience Engineering.
