Job Summary:
Provides strategic and technical leadership for knowledge management, external visibility, and strategic engagement across large, complex, multi-country global health projects in global health security, emergency and outbreak response, HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, polio, maternal, newborn and child health and nutrition, and health systems strengthening. Directs the strategy, technical content, planning, and execution of conferences sessions, learning events, webinars, and other high-profile technical exchanges. Sets direction for systems and approaches that enable teams to capture, organize, synthesize, share, and apply evidence, lessons learned, best practices, innovations, and project achievements. Oversees the development of strategic messaging and high-quality technical and public-facing products and events for donor, government, partner, project, and public audiences. Leads cross-functional collaboration with technical teams, country offices, partners, and manages staff, budgets, schedules, and priorities for assigned knowledge management activities and projects., and manages staff, budgets, schedules, and priorities for assigned knowledge management activities and projects.
Accountabilities:
Provides senior technical oversight for knowledge management, external visibility, learning, and technical dissemination across one or more projects.
Provides strategic and technical leadership for conferences, webinars, learning events, and other high-profile engagements, including developing event strategies and technical agendas; overseeing abstracts, posters, presentations, and speaker preparation; coordinating review and clearance; and ensuring technical quality and alignment with project and organizational priorities.
Manages and guides a team responsible for knowledge management, events, external visibility, and related processes. Develops staff and leads process improvements to ensure compliance with company and donor standards.
Creates or revises strategies, work plans, budgets, staffing approaches, and technical designs related to knowledge management, learning, dissemination, and external visibility.
Maintains collaborative relationships with donors/clients, government agencies, country offices, implementing partners, peer organizations, and other stakeholders; represents the organization at professional meetings, conferences, and strategic engagements.
Serves as back up to the Technical Director.
Applied Knowledge & Skills:
Comprehensive knowledge of knowledge management concepts, practices, systems, and standards, combined with strong project and people management expertise.
Extensive experience with conference and event planning and external engagement in global health
Excellent writing, editing, synthesis, storytelling, content and message development, facilitation, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational, analytical, strategic planning, and quality-assurance skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex review processes.
Ability to motivate and influence cross-functional teams, build collaboration across countries and technical areas, and guide staff and partners toward shared goals.
Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical information, evidence, and lessons learned into clear, strategic, actionable messages and products tailored to technical, donor, program, government, partner, and public audiences.
Knowledge of donor branding and marking requirements, organizational style standards, and quality-assurance processes for technical and public-facing products.
Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English. Proficiency in French or another language is desirable.
Education:
Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Knowledge/Information Services, Communications, Education, Health, Behavioral, Life/Social Sciences, International Development, Human Development, or a Related Field.
Project Management (PM) Certification preferred.
Experience:
Typically requires 10+ years of relevant experience in knowledge management, technical communications, global health, international development, or a related field, including 3+ years of leadership and management experience.
Documented experience leading large, complex, multi-country projects or programs and working in a non-governmental organization (NGO), government agency, or related organization.
Demonstrated experience leading the technical planning and delivery of conferences, webinars, learning events, and other strategic engagements, including oversight of abstracts, presentations, posters, speakers, and event-related communications.

Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.
Technology to be Used:
Personal Computer/Laptop, Microsoft Office 365 (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Teams), cell phone/mobile technology, and standard office equipment. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Sprout Social, Muck Rack, data visualization, or other creative and content-management applications is a plus.

The expected US Based hiring salary range for this role is listed below. Candidates FHI 360 pay ranges represent national averages that vary by geographic location. When determining an offer amount, FHI 360 factors in multiple considerations, including but not limited to: relevant years of experience and education possessed by the applicant, internal equity, business sector, and budget. For internal candidates, salary placement will also follow FHI 360’s current promotional increase guidelines. Final compensation will be determined in accordance with applicable law and FHI 360 policy.
Base salary is only one component of our offer. FHI 360 contributes 7% of monthly base pay to a money purchase pension plan account. Additionally, all US-based staff working full-time, which is calculated at 40 hours/week, receive 18 days of paid vacation per year, 12 sick days per year, and 11 holidays per year. Paid time off is reduced pro rata for employees working less than a full-time schedule.
US Based Hiring Salary Range: 110,000- 130,000 annually
