Overview:

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Clinical Manager, RN for the Burn Trauma, Intermediate Care - Medical/Surgical Unit!

The Clinical Nurse Manager has overall accountability for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Supervises patient care services staff, ensures excellent patient safety and quality outcomes as well as extraordinary patient/family experience. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, developing and retaining staff with the goal of developing a highly reliable team. Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills to achieve unit and corporate goals. Assists in the development and monitoring of unit budget, coordinates purchasing and payroll processes and serves as a clinical resource to team members.

Department Overview:

Burn Trauma is a 34-bed mixed Intermediate care and medical/surgical unit. There are 17 beds for stepdown/intermediate level of care. The patient population is neurosurgery, trauma, burns and orthopedic trauma. The intermediate care patients are received from both the Burn Trauma ICU and the Neurosurgical ICU. Also, there are 17 beds for Medical/Surgical level of care for neurosurgical, trauma, burns, orthopedic trauma, and bariatric weight loss (gastric bypass and gastric sleeves). Our nurses are trained to work both the intermediate and the medical surgical side. The nurse to patient ratio for the Intermediate Care beds are 3 to 4 and for the Medical/Surgical beds are 5 to 6. The Registered Nurse will work in a collaborative role as part of a team to maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice, to meet the health care needs of patients, their families, and the community.

Education

Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire

Experience

3 years relevant nursing experience, 2 years experience in a support leadership RN position, i.e. Unit Coordinator, Team Lead, or other like position may be accepted in lieu of 1 year formal management experience. Meets any requirements defined by specific specialty.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $121,555.20 - $181,376.00 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
