Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, Economics, or related field
5-8 years of sales strategy, commercial excellence, business planning, category management, sales operations, or account management experience
Experience supporting senior sales leaders or executive teams preferred
Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Food & Beverage, Retail, or Manufacturing experience strongly preferred
Experience creating executive presentations and customer-facing business reviews
Job Description:
The Commercial Excellence Manager is a strategic partner within the Sales organization, responsible for supporting the Chief Sales Officer and broader sales leadership team in driving customer growth, sales planning, executive communications, and commercial execution.
This role serves as the connective link between customer strategy, sales performance, business planning, and executive decision-making. The Commercial Excellence Manager works closely with National Account Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Marketing, Finance, Revenue Growth Management, and Operations to develop actionable business insights, support customer engagements, and ensure successful execution of commercial priorities.
The ideal candidate combines strong sales acumen, analytical capabilities, executive communication skills, and stakeholder management experience to influence customer growth strategies and support leadership decision-making.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Partner to Sales Leadership
Partner directly with the Chief Sales Officer to support strategic business initiatives and organizational priorities.
Develop executive-level presentations, customer reviews, annual planning materials, and leadership communications.
Prepare executive summaries and recommendations to support business decisions.
Manage strategic projects and cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the sales leadership team.
Ensure follow-up and execution against key commercial priorities and action items.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Support the CSO and sales leaders during key customer, broker, distributor, and stakeholder meetings.
Participate in customer business reviews and strategic planning sessions.
Build presentation materials and business cases for customer negotiations and growth opportunities.
Summarize customer discussions and provide clear recommendations and action plans.
Develop executive-ready insights that support customer retention, profitable growth, and strategic partnerships.
Sales Planning & Commercial Execution
Lead annual sales planning, forecasting, and business review processes.
Support sales leaders with territory planning, customer prioritization, and growth strategy development.
Monitor progress against sales objectives and identify performance improvement opportunities.
Partner with sales leadership to establish KPIs and scorecards that measure commercial success.
Assist in developing customer-specific growth strategies and account plans.
Sales Analytics & Business Insights
Analyze sales performance, customer trends, distribution gains, promotional effectiveness, and marketplace opportunities.
Convert complex business data into concise and actionable recommendations for leadership.
Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reviews.
Support customer forecasting and sales performance reporting.
Identify risks and opportunities impacting revenue, distribution, and profit growth.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Marketing, Finance, Revenue Growth Management, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to support commercial priorities.
Drive alignment between customer strategies and organizational objectives.
Facilitate communication and execution across departments to ensure successful implementation of commercial initiatives.
Support the development of business cases for investments, new products, pricing initiatives, and customer opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Executive Communication
Strong executive presence and ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
Exceptional storytelling, presentation development, and meeting facilitation skills.
Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into concise executive summaries.
Sales Strategy & Customer Focus
Deep understanding of customer planning and sales execution.
Ability to identify growth opportunities and influence commercial decision-making.
Strong understanding of customer relationship management and business development principles.
Analytical Capability
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Ability to interpret complex business performance data and provide strategic recommendations.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau, NielsenIQ, Circana, Salesforce, or similar business intelligence platforms preferred.

Job Details:
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, Business Hours. 3 Days Onsite, 2 Days WFH
Work Attire: Use good judgment, keeping in mind the nature of their work, their safety and the safety of others, and their need to interact with the public.
Travel: Up to 40% for internal & external meetings/conferences
Pay Range: $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 Salary + Bonus Eligible
