COMMUNICATION/INFORMATION MAINTENANCE MANAGER (Title 32)

Summary

THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION DUTY LOCATION: 103d Air Control Squadron (ACS), Orange, CT AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1: All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Air National Guard. Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the CTANG.

Duties

JOB SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to provide leadership and guidance to ensure the Communications/Information Division meets all wartime readiness requirements. Directs and supervises staff functions, through subordinate supervisors, affecting a diverse and very complex Theater Air Control System (TACS). The division provides operations and maintenance support for assigned computer, communications, data, and sensor systems; information assurance, quality assurance, materiel control, and maintenance control functions; and vehicle and powered support equipment maintenance. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard. The major duties include, but are not limited to: Determines divisional goals that are the foundation for long and short range planning and execution of all internal programs. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Oversees the programs of the Communications/Information Division through subordinate supervisors that supervise technical activities within the organizational units. Responsible for the availability of mission capable TACS Unit Type Codes (UTCs) to meet U.S. Air Force, contingency, and training requirements. Coordinates with the NGB, Major Commands, and other operating agencies to determine if existing operational capabilities are compatible with Air Force Joint Operational and National Agency requirements.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with a knowledge of equipment maintenance work, or skill in reading engineering drawings and specifications, using test instruments, making computations, and keeping records. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following: Experience in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment, facility, or service operations sufficient in planning assignments. Experience using well-established occupational methods and techniques to determine facility, grounds, equipment overhaul maintenance, restoration, repair needs, etc. Experience in determination of resource needs, allocation of resources, and budgeting/funding needs. Experience in human resources management policy matters affecting the entire organization, with personnel actions affecting key employees to include experience coordinating work forces and resources and negotiating with management or clients concerning problems. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to coordinate work. Ability to plan and coordinate work of frequently changing work assignments. Ability to develop, plan, and coordinate complex work assignments. Knowledge of an organization that produces a number of services or end products. Ability to determine deadlines and schedule work for an organization. Ability to coordinate scheduling between customers and producers. Ability to follow rigid requirements established by another source. COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/AFSC.
