University Health Physicians (UHP) is the physician group practice for the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC) in conjunction with its major teaching facility. UMKC supports several residencies and many of our physicians have teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students. Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible Family Medicine Physician with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Geriatric Medicine to join our growing academic faculty. This role balances exceptional clinical care for older adults with a robust academic appointment, offering significant opportunities to shape the next generation of physicians through teaching, mentorship, and scholarly activity. Key clinical responsibilities include; comprehensive, compassionate geriatric primary care across multiple settings (ambulatory clinics, acute care, long-term care, and home-based settings). The ideal candidate will thrive in a highly collaborative, interprofessional environment dedicated to clinical excellence, research, and community health.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience in an academic medical setting.
  • Proven leadership experience in medical education, curriculum design, and/or clinical operations.
  • Strong track record of or demonstrated commitment to clinical teaching and academic medicine.
  • Experience in securing research funding or leading interdisciplinary clinical trials.

This faculty position provides an opportunity to become a member of a dynamic, expanding academic program and allows for faculty development. Academic appointment and salary commensurate with background.
