• Position Overview:
• The Crew Member/Driver is responsible for operating company vehicles to transport materials and equipment to and from job sites. When not driving, this position requires hands-on support for crew members on site, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. This position is contingent upon a successful background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review to ensure compliance with Merritt Contracting’s standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Driving & Transportation:

Safely operate company vehicles, transporting tools, materials, and equipment to various job sites.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in good operating condition.

Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.

On-Site Crew Support:

Assist with daily tasks, including but not limited to loading/unloading materials, setting up equipment, and site cleanup.

Work closely with the crew to support concrete pouring, excavation, and other general labor tasks as required.

Follow safety protocols and support safe worksite practices.

General Labor:

Perform hands-on labor tasks as needed to assist team members in meeting project goals.

Handle tools and materials with care, following training and company guidelines.

Qualifications:

Required Experience:

Proven experience in a labor-intensive role; experience in construction or concrete work is a plus.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR check required).

Ability to operate a vehicle safely and responsibly under various driving conditions.

Skills:

Strong communication skills and a collaborative team-oriented attitude.

Ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand, walk, bend, and work in varying weather conditions.

Ability to follow directions and complete tasks efficiently and safely.

Additional Requirements:

Offers of employment is contingent upon passing a background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screening.

Ability to work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends as needed to meet project deadlines.
